It seems that the old platform had so deteriorated that new people haven't been able to join the forum for a few years. Did you ever wonder why the new people quit showing up? Our ever-vigilant and alert Rammer/Rooper swiftly noticed this and set us up with a new forum. Now all those people who have been trying to join the forum can finally join and post their profound thoughts. There goes the neighborhood. Pax!

. You can do it yourself here on the new improved site. Just go to the upper left corner here and click on control panel and then to profile and then to edit avatar and you can plug one in from either your computer or a remote site like Photobucket. You may have to resize the image to fit the 150X100 maximum. I just experimented with it until something worked. Pax!

. One of the things I've always loved about Rammer/Rooper is that he assumes the best of people......like, he would never think I was being sarcastic when I said "swift-alert-vigilant" etc. Ah....what a nice guy (just a bit naive). Ummmmm.....BTW......did any of you alert admin types help Mac?

Mickey wrote: macfan wrote: to find xn has had a facelift? a forum-lift? what happened? macfan Well, tell us about the cruise! the best thing about the trip was spending time with my beloved. the ship docked in cozumel where we did the dolphin encounter - very cool - and a little shopping. the taxi ride was scary. had some spa treatments on board - quite relaxing. we both concluded, however, that we're not really cruise-types (the cruise was a gift) - i'm prone to motion sickness and claustrophobia. very glad to be home! macfan

Macfan, a question:
I've long been intriqued by your name and tried to fathom it - is it because you like Macdonald's?
Enlighten me please. not that I lay awake at nights worrying about it but now and again I wonder.

Enlighten me please. not that I lay awake at nights worrying about it but now and again I wonder. cool, i chose "macfan" as a way to pay homage to george macdonald, whose writings and theological leanings i love. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_MacDonaldare you familiar with his works? macfan

Aha, Macfan - there was I thinking you were a Macdonald's eater! Shows how low my mind runs at times.
I think I read Macdonald during my Universalist days.

I think I read Macdonald during my Universalist days. well, i have been known to eat a big mac every once in a great while...but no, the screen name is for george. my husband has read just about every novel macdonald has ever written (that we can find), and we read his children's books aloud to our son. i'm more partial to his non-fiction, especially his "unspoken sermons" series. macfan
