I am now the owner of one 10 year old female husky and two rag-doll cats, one boy and one girl. My original female rag-doll has her nose out of joint at the newcomers. She hides under my bed and hisses and spits at the new family members. The boy cat is a sweetie, very affectionate, but he likes to try and intimidate my female cat. The female is bigger than him so she is unimpressed. Tasha, the female husky, loves kitties. She likes to chew on the nape of their neck and roughhouse with them. My female cat is deathly afraid of the dog but the boy cat tolerates the roughhousing. The boy cat is Simon the girl cat is Chloe. Chloe is a sweetheart too, but she liked the prior arrangements better. I just thought I would share this as I am watching Tasha roughhouse with Simon. Like I said, she loves kitties.

See this is why one shouldn't go to the animal shelter when one is hungry.

Oh, ragdolls are gorgeous! Somethimes it takes weeks for cats to get used to each other. One thing I do to help the process along is to get a toy like a feather on a stick and play with both cats with it, letting them both chew/bat it so they get each other's scent. They become familiar with the other cat more quickly this way, and it has stopped many hissy fits in our house. Have fun! Any chance you might post some pics?

. I've found that if you put the new cat in a big burlap bag and then tie the top shut after dropping the old cat (or cats) inside with the new cat and then hang the bag in a tree for a day........ When you let them out they won't fight anymore. P.S. Don't post pics right after using this technique, because the cats look a little the worse for wear. Pax!

Should have known you'd come up with such a problem solving plan. Beware of PETA.
