Far more than anyone could have imagined. Even that old goat Pat Buchanan praised the speech, while his fellow panelists sat there with their mouths open in shock.

The best part is that the Republicans are thinking of delaying their convention "because of the hurricane." Yeah, like they really care about the people on the Gulf Coast. It's Hurricane Obama they don't want to have to follow.

Mom and I went on the boat at 10am and got off about four...nice breeze and pretty comfortable till we got back in...it was mid 80's when we started and 100 when we got off :o ...it was all I could do to stay awake till Obama spoke but it was worth it.

Anyone that watched would see that this is the man to take this country forward and not backwards like mc same would surly do...I was impressed with the whole DNC.

I see a lot of very idealistic people being set up for a huge disappointment in the event that Obama becomes president.

They really believe that things can change for the better with the right president.

The system is set up to continually bring hope to the people.

After Obama, another great hope will come along.

And the people will believe it.

Pax!

Logos,

Agree. McCain will give a very similar speech next week. If you like Obama, you'll love his speech and look at anything that McCain says as rhetoric. If you like McCain, you'll love his speech and view anything Obama says as "misleading."

I don't like these conventions. Reminds me of a WOF campmeeting.

This is a hoot  Barack Obama: He Completes Us

They asked Stewart and Colbert if they were going to make fun of Obama the way they did John McCain (remember the graphic on The Daily Show of McSame riding up the staircase on one of those electric-powered old-people chairs?) ... Stewart and Colbert (allegedly) looked at one another and said something akin to, "Son of a goat herder? How can we not?!"

The best graphic is the baby Obama lion. They have some funny folks over at The Daily Show.

Missed the edit window ...

Anyway, could the Daily Show's humor be so good that the video is actually a send-up on the mocking Obama has had to put up with? A mocking of the mocking, so to speak (?) (a lot of which was instigated by Hillary's surrogates during the primary ... about his being the "second coming" ... "The One" (that one's from Oprah ... think Neo, The Matrix) ... the Savior, etc.? I'd like to think so. By some of the comments below the video, it seems some wouldn't agree w/ me; they chastise Jon for airing it.

"Brown and feisty".  And Virginia, Obama even speaks more like Jesus. McSnake of course is a serpent, even looks like a reptile.

Logos, we should always keep hope alive. Bush and his guffaws have totally wrecked any semblance of a higher standard. And we do want our children to learn from intelligent example don't we. That means constant change for which the Bushf_cks haven't offered at all.
